The International Energy Agency (IEA), so often the object of this newsletter’s scorn, has announced that 400 million barrels of oil will be released from the various leading countries’ (OECD) emergency reserve stocks. As is typically the case with IEA declarations, this one should be taken with a large shaker of salt.
