Hello, Haymakers:
It’s hard to avoid seeing Jeff Gundlach, the “King of Bonds”, at least if you watch CNBC. At times, it seems as though he’s on as much as Jim Cramer (though sans the high-pitched voice and hyperactive demeanor). The media bestowed that “King…” title on him around 15 years ago when he established his firm DoubleLine, anointing him as the successor to the prior bond market regent, Pimco co-founder Bill Gross. It’s certainly been a successful reign; DoubleLine now has roughly $95 billion in assets under management. We’ve linked their website below.
Unquestionably, a key reason for Mr. Gundlach’s success is his communication skills. Those of you who have watched him probably agree with us that he’s not the smoothest talker out there, but his exceptional intelligence is clearly evident. Additionally, his DoubleLine podcasts are rich with compelling charts, reinforcing his macro/big-picture views.
